You, the pastor or ministry leader, must make the decision that it is time to begin the process of transition and be willing to “let go” and “let God” work out the details of that transition.
Transition can be an exciting time and a challenging time for the Pastor or the Ministry leader, the Leadership Team, and even the congregation of a church. But, it is a necessary thing to do. Every Pastor or Ministry Leader needs a Timothy “standing in the wings” so to speak, ready to assume leadership of the ministry when the proper time arrives.
Retirement Planning (for leaders and staff) – It is very important that you adopt a Policy on “Retirement and Severance Packages” prior to the time of accepting and setting in a new Pastor or Ministry Leader.
